Downloaded subtitle edit several times and it seems OK but on installing it displays "has encountered an error".
What can be the cause?
Tks

Basicly your asking how long a piece of string is,in your case it could be anything unless a security app is blocking it

You could i spose others do it for malware issues not sure if i'll be of any use however there is a portable version that requires no install & it will do the same job or there's subtitle workshop

Hi
Thanks for your reply. I downloaded the portable one as advised but there is still an .exe file to open. And then it fails to open.
Re the Subtitle Workshop I have it too but it is refusing to load some videos although not all. That is why I tried to have this one instead.

There must be a conflict with another software possibly k-lite as it's known to caue SE to crash, only other thing it could be is windows itself perhaps a driver or an update, unless a security ware has locked it check it's black list, short of reformatting all you can do is find a different app

I'd go with subtitle processor can't go too wrong with open source, just check makers website for a non install version,no point adding more junk if you don't have too
