I used to think that it was wrong to download free off of the internet films and the such like, but when I stopped to think about it how can it be wrong, I believe that if people are willing to share their films and TV programmes with other people online how can it be wrong. I now download and have offered to become a seeder as I have a lot of films and TV series, to share that are suitable for both men and women as I like action and Marshal arts films and own quite a few of these, to me it's no different than lending them to a friend or relative to watch, so why do they say it's illegal, people are still buying the films as am I so what is so wrong with sharing them.

well its a matter of opinion and what the actualy content is.if its copyrighted which most movies and tv shows are its a breach of copyright which is illegal.basically its taking copyrighted material and distributing it without permission.if there is no copyright attached to the content such as some youtube videos then it may be legal.

Just to let the person know who replied to my item about downloading, I only do it for very old items that can only be brought on region 1 DVDs, everything else I pay full price for or rent from an on-line company. Believe me when I say even though I'm a pensioner the film industry has had a lot of money from me over the years, both for VHS videos and DVDs, infact I'm on the wait list for the next Sex and the City film and know it will cost me more than friends who will wait for the price to go down, I would love to go to the cinema but am unable to do so as I would have to go up a large flight of stairs and as I have trouble walking can't make it up them, so the minimal bit of downloading I do is done for my enjoyment only and mine alone, ok it's wrong but if I could get what I wanted on region 2 DVDs I wouldn't have to do it at all. Thanks for your imput I do appreciate it.
