My wife updated her DSi to the latest version without checking with me. I know, totally stupid thing to do. Trust me - I am pissed!

Anyway, in order to get around the new blocking update (her DSi now was it has 1.4.1E on it) I bought an Acekard card from a genuine seller through Acekard.com.
Waited a few weeks and it arrived.

I took it out of the packaging and inserted it into her DSi - I got the now standard black screen error. Didn't even see the card.

Fine I though, this must be because there is nothing on the SD micro card (inserted into the Acekard card).
So I went to http://www.acekard.com/download.php#ak2 and got the AK2i software "official version 4.23" (as below jpeg with text shows) and copied it onto the SD micro card.

Took the SD card out of my pc, inserted it into the Acekard card and tried it in BOTH my own (which was not updated) and her own updated DSi, which was.
In both cases - I still got the now frustrating black screen error message and both can't even see the Acekard card.

So now I am left wondering... What am I doing wrong?
I expected it to show the error screen on her as I had not updated the micro SD card with the "update for 1.41 of DSi" but was very surprised to see that the Acekard was even failing to be seen by my own DSi which told me "No card inserted"

...So I now can't even apply any update to the Acekard card to get around Nintendo's firmware block.

Anyone suggestions on what I could do?
