I just got a DS and Action Replay DS yesterday and thought I would try them out. The action replay works, the DS works, but the software side of the action replay ds doesn't seem to be happy. I have a vista x86 and an XP x86 computer and they both produce the same issue. The problem is when I plug the action replay into the DS then connect it to the computer all is good. When I start the software up, it tries to get the information from the action replay ds and tells me it is empty. If I try to update it it starts to update then does nothing. If I try to copy some cheats on, it says there is no space. If I look at the DS screen, at the top where it tells you to connect it to the PC and such, it is just full of "ERROR!".
Has anybody experienced this? I am thinking a soft-reset (a+b+start+select trick) would fix it, but at the same time I am iffy to try that because it erases all the codes on the device and I don't want to have to enter all of those by hand. I CAN add codes manually using the DS interface, but I was hoping to be able to update the firmware to keep up with the latest games and such.
The Action Replay DS is running firmware 1.60 and the software version on the PC is the latest one from the codejunkies.com webpage (1.52 I believe). I have tested it with 2 different DS's (a 1st gen one and a DS lite) and had the same problems.
From what I can tell, I have ruled out DS issues, computer issues, and software issues... so my next guess is that the action replay ds may be broken.
I have contaced codejunkies through e-mail but have not yet heard back from them yet.
Thoughts or advice?
Thanks
Brian
