Final Fantasy IV rom doesnt save on R4DS

I've been playing Final Fantasy 4 on my r4 recently and I've been having trouble saving. I've updated the firmware to 1.18 and everytime I save my progress as either a quicksave or regular save,it somehow deletes the save files by itself. I tried switching to a different rom to hopefully fix this issue, but it still occurs. Anyone know how to fix it?
