help extremely confused about r4 cards

please can anyone help, i have a r4 card with games on, and my friend purchased a r4 sdhc card to copy my games on to but I have tried copying them across, and when i load it into the DS it says menu? in red.
I am a complete novice at this and am even struggling to download games any help given would be totally appreciated because i might be able to get some house work done instead of looking for solutions!

There are umpteen different R4 cards on the market now, almost all of them knockoffs trying to ride the R4 name to popularity.

Most of them use different firmwares so you need to find the firmware appropriate for your friend's card. Obviously it uses a different firmware than yours.

the best place for the firmware depends on the version of card, does the box or cart have a website if so use that, or you will have to try them all to find one that works, they should have a moonshell program on the website a lot of them do.
