hello there. I've been looking around for the best flashkart to buy but all the threads are at least 2-3 years old and I'm just wondering if the NDS modding scene has dried up or not. there are quite a few new Flash kart's Available now and I'm just wondering which is the best one.
also since I'm quite new to this (i don't even own a ds yet)i want to know aswell what passme cards are and whether i will need one.tah

If you're going to buy a DS Lite, then I'd recommend the CycloDS. If you're interested in the new DSi, then you'll need a card that supports it (generally the card's name has an i at the end, such as R4i). This is relatively new, so I'd recommend going with the Lite unless there's something on the DSi that you really must have.

The passme cards are an older technology and you won't need them. These were used before the slot 1 cards were available.

I recently got a my first DS, a lite, and went with the M3 Real. I can't compare it to any other cart because I haven't tried any, but so far the M3 Real has worked flawlessly for me. And the m3 Sakura firmware is really aesthetically pleasing compared to the screen shots I've seen of other brands.

Among R4i,R4i-SDHC,AK2i,DSTTi,M3i, which one is the most proper for DSi?

I don't own a DSi, so I can't give you advice on which is better. Maybe someone else can. However, I can tell you that the DSi's firmware can be updated which Nintendo is using to keep flashcards from being used. You'll want to make sure that you chose a flashcard that is able to be updated as well as this will probably be a game of cat-and-mouse. Again, this is just one reason why I would recommend sticking with the older DS Lite for now.

i use a dstti in my ds lite. works brilliantly.
i also have an old type of m3 which aint too bad, but does not get any firmware updates recently.
i wouldnt mind getting my hands on an r4i gold in case i get a dsi in the future, but not in a rush.
if your after anything for your ds, then we run a shop.
you can get to it through visiting my site (link in my sig) and the shop has a banner at the top of the page.

I have a Ds Phat and a Ds Lite, and I just ordered two AceKard2is off of modchipcentral.com, so far from all the reviews I have read it seemed the best for what I do, which is play games, and use a little bit of homebrew. Its cheap and effective.

AK2i is the most popular one. But i suggest to get M3i & DSTTi which compatible with DS , DSL & DSi . www.depot888.com is a good place to buy these, price & shipping time are acceptable.
