Are these the two things that I need for my Nintendo DS Lite to get it to play NES and Gameboy Advance Games?
What other consoles could I get?
Is it as easy as changing the file name then putting it on the cart?

Good Choice

You need the emulator to make them run on the DS, GBA will run with the expansion cart and does not need an emulator.

You need the roms.

Megadrive games are pretty good, play quite well
