Should I upgrade my DSi?

Hi everyone!!! I just got a new DSi, but I'm still waiting for my DSTTi card. When I try to access the DSi store it says I need to update. I'm just really worried that after I update my DSi the DSTTi card may not work anymore!!

Should I update or not?
