Slot-2 cart in a GBA sp?

My daughter was recently given a GBA sp. If I get a slot-2 card intended for a DS lite will it function in the GBA? If not is there a current production cart you would recommened? Is there a cart intended for the GBA that uses a SD or similar setup?

No, it won't physically fit.

You need a slot 2 card designed for an NDS phat.

I just took a look at my "preferred vendor" and they are all out of the cards.

What some people have done is taken an NDSL Slot 2 and put it in a GBA game case.

I use a Supercard SD for my GBA.
