hello, I don't know if this goes here but I looked everywhere else and this one was the one that said "get better download speed"
ok, so here's the deal. a buddy of mine moved to this place and we conected the tv to the coaxial cable that was in the livingroom, belive it or not he now has cable! (BASIC). anyway, so I told him to go and buy a modem at Best B. we hooked it up and he now has free internet and cable!. my ? is, the internet is running at 1mbp. I did a speed test, is there a way we can make it go faster? im guessing is cable and maybe get it to go to 10mgs> :) Thank you.

In a few days they will notice the stolen connection (probably left over from the last people who were there.. so by the end of the month no doubt) and shut it down.. if it is doing 1 meg then that's how the ISP have it set up.. They usually just shut these things down, but if you start tampering (by trying to hack their exchange and setting a higher speed) and draw attention to yourselves they can charge just about anything they like per Mb "stolen" .. and they WILL have the evidence to prove exactly where the "crime" happened.

Ok, but just a couple of things... He's been there for the past two months now and we just figure to do this. Another, we are not stealling or commiting a crime. We didn't "hack" it from the source ( pole ) it's on the rental apartment he got. Thanks for the heads up though.
