Utorrent, latest build, anywhere for 1/2 way though the download, up to the very end, when it's says 100%, I get this error message, "error:the system cannot find the file specified" My torrents go to where I have specified, but nothing ever makes it to the folder, but it take s the normal amount of time to download. This does not happen with everything, just some things, and normally it is "newer" files. I try to "force re-check" with "start" and is a waste of time. Right now, I have a 100% download with this error message, and where there is suppose to be a 700mb file, there is nothing. No folder, no nothing. So where did it go? I am not sure if it is my problem, or where I'm getting it, but I don't want to be giving a thumbs down to somebody for something that is my issue. I posted this question at the utorrent forum on deaf ears. Lot of help they are. Thx for the help.
Just guessing but is show hidden files and folders at start>control panel>folder options>view enabled. Also does searching your computer for that file show anything? Maybe time for a different client, Bittorrent is very similar to utorrent and put out by the same outfit last I heard, Deluge is another light one as is Bit Tornado (can be a bit complicated to set up) or Vuze (heavy but good).
been using utorrent for a while can't say i've had that issue even with beta's which is what i use,assuming file isn't being quarantined by some security ware,have you changed location of directories without reboot,that's just a stab in the dark & i use a folder for active downloads for utorrent in a partition & use move completed downloads to the same partition but outside of the folder so if you open up that drive you will see all completed,so the top two tick boxes are ticked & the same partition & the bottom tick box is ticked for loading torrents by auto from the partition,so the torrent load files are in the same place finished downloads are kept,other than that all i could suggest is uninstall use regedit delete all entries to utorrent,reboot use ccleaner then reinstall,set torrents to one partition only in directories leave tick boxes 3,4 & 5 unticked then reboot again & pray

not all flicks are doing this. mine is setup so all downloads going to a different hard drive. for instance, set to D:\flicks. everything goes in there. nothing has changed. i may download say an older file, and it will be fine. i may download a newer flick and i get this message. i may uninstall and reinstall, but i have my doubts this will cure anything. no need to pray. not a big deal. thx for the advice
