This is a warning to people living in germany or are thinking of downloading from p2p sites.
i have just recently recieved a letter from a lawsuit firm telling me i have to pay money to 3 people that own copy rite to the song fever by cascada... the sum starts at 450 euros up to 1500 euros, the song was part of the clubland 16 ablbum , now the question is how did they get my isp , my name and my address.. surely this violates my constitutional right to privacy as this really isnt a serious enough criminal offence, they obtained my details without my knowledge, and with the job i do security is an issue when people can get my details as easy as that, my other question is if they put a tracker on that one song in the ablbum and possibly sharing it on p2p sites surely they are at fault and can be brought befor a legal court for sharing or even tracking knowing it will be downloaded on p2p sites to obtain money for what they are saying copy rite infringment...

Anything related to Illegal music sharing is closely monitored anywhere in the EU.

Your ISP will have tracked that you have downloaded from a previously known IP that uploads the music.

Your Name and address will be used by your ISP to send you the letter.

Yes they are illegally hosting the files but your just at fault for downloading them.

Honestly dont be cheap and just buy the album or borrow it from friends... Music isnt that costly compared to what sum you have to pay now.

But before you do...ring them up and ask them to confirm the letter is correct but dont use the number on the letter.. google the firm and find the number from there... there is a minute chance that its a scam but more than likely it isnt...

[Edit] Just a thought.. dont they have the 3 strikes rule in germany?

1 strike: a warning
2 strikes: slowed internet connection/cut off
3 strikes: a hefty fine and/or prison sentence depending on what and how much you downloaded
