I am a newbie and every forum I read says this is the tool of choice. Okay,so I am converting a WMV file to AVI file. I used the basic>normal preset. I click encode. the black box appears for a second the disappears. Along the bottom it says encoding finished. But in the output directory I get no files. It could be possible to code that fast. All this takes about 3 seconds.

I find that in Windows, Handbrake is hit and miss for converting WMV files.

I use VirtualDub with the WMV Plugin instead.
