Hi guys.

I do hope I've got the right forum for this - abject apologies if I've posted in the wrong place.

Here's my issue... I have all 3 seasons of Star Trek Remastered on my new PC in .mkv format. My old PC is now being used as a media centre and I'm absolutely loving using Media Browser with it. The problem I have is that my media centre pc is too old to handle .mkv files without stutering, and yet, mp4 files will play in the same high def quality without a problem.

I've used Total Video Converter to convert to mp4 but each episode takes 2.5hrs. Baring in mind my processor is an AMD Phenom II X6 1055T processor at 2.8ghz, that seems awfully long to me.

I tried GOTSent, which is brilliant and does an episode in less than 30mins, but the file size is almost a 1gb more than Total Video Converter. Also, TVC throws up some errors, so it's really not very practicle. As the media centre is an older PC, I only have a 750gb HD in it and HD space is at a premium. If I add all 79 episodes of Trek at 2.5gb a piece that's going to fill up nearly 200gb.

Does anyone know how to reduce file size in GOTSent, or if there is a better solution to my problem?
