Software Needed for Organizing Ripped DVDs

I recently built a Home Theater PC and I am ripping my DVD collection to my new PC. I'm unhappy with the way Windows Media Player handles video files by using a thumbnail of the first frame of the movie, which is usually black.

I want to be able to use DVD cover art as a shortcut or as thumbnail so I can quickly see what movie it is from the couch. If this can be done in WMP, that would be great but I can't find anything. If there is any video management program, player, or any other trick that will do this, let me know. Thanks in advance.
