Heres my problem... I have an .avi video, that works great with vlc... but otherwise it has a low volume.. really low.. and i cant hear it on my ps3.. so i need to raise the volume..

Here is the codec from the particular video...
XVID
XviD 1.1.2 Final
0x2000 (Dolby AC3) AC3
48000Hz 384 kb/s tot , 6 chnls (3/2 .1)
I need to raise the volume of the file.. and audacity is taking forever to load.. so im using vdub, and i keep getting this error

Everytime i try to save wav, or to Preview output from start.. i get this error msg...

No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format.
(source format tag: 2000)

Now the file plays on the computer.. so i have the codec... what gives..? why is this doing this? what can i do to get vdub working.. or is there a better program to raising the volume of a vid? so i can skip this issue...

nevermind..vdub is working correctly now.. i think maybe cuz i dled a new avisynth.. not sure...

i raised the volume.. some idiot made it super quiet...

but now my file is mpeg layer 3.. and ps3 doesnt read that.. lol
lets hope i can reencode it and get it right this time..

man what a pain.. cant all video and audio be universal????

why all the formats and codecs.. jesus....

Jesus has nothing to do with it. and the 'idiot' took the time and effort to provide you with the file.

Xvid4PSP will easily correct, while maintaining the ac3 5.1, volume.

lol that was a joke... the jesus thing.. lighten up...
i was working on this stuff all day on the 2nd, and got frusterated... with many attempts and downloads...
how hard could it be for the pc community to have 1 standardized set of codecs.. that everything is on... sigh wishful thinking...

no the "idiot" didnt take the time and effort to provide me with the file.. dont assume you know how or why i have the file...
