Ok I am going to teach you the ultimate guide for running PSX Games on PSP, You will need the following
1x PSP 1000, 2000 or 3000 hacked (CFW 3.40+) 1x Memory stick 1x THIS File
It helps to have the latest CFW, better support and this guide was made for use with 5.50 GEN-A (FULL)
Here is the contents
A1: DUMPING PSX game
A2: CONVERTING
A3: COPYING
B1: POPSLOADER
B2: PPF PATCHES
B3: THE RIGHT POPS FOR YOU
==A1: DUMPING PSX GAMES
What this does is a way of getting your PSX Discs and putting them on a PSP legally.
You will need:
CloneCD (freeware)
-Or Some other CD dumper
WinRAR (freeware)
Firstly download a CD dumper program, I use CloneCD 'cause its free, but you may want a better dumper like Alcohol 120% or MagicISO.
then put the PSX Game in the CD drive and wait.
Load your dumping program, select Dump and Select a location
Select Game CD
Once done open the containing folder (Note for CloneCD users there will be 3 files per disc, a .IMG a .CCD and another, delete all but the .IMG files)
==A2: CONVERTING
Here you can convert your PSX ISOs to bootable PSP Games!
You will need:
Patience
*Maybe some images
1. First load ImpalerpSX
2. Select the ISO file from where you saved it
#If it is a multi-game then select the other disc(s)
#You need to enter the game Title and click search, and tick 1 box
*3. Select a few images (for more advanced people)
4. click Create and wait
5. After completion, go to the impalerpSX folder and look in the Results folder.
==A3: COPYING
1. Make a new folder on the memory stick called PSP (if not already there
2. Make a folder in there called GAME (if not there)
3. Copy the folder inside the folder Results (your Game)
4. Check the game under the XMB (If corrupted retry)
==B1: POPSLOADER
Some games run better on different firmware versions, so you have to use a plugin that allows you to choose the right POPS for your version, for example, a lot of people cant get past the intro on Final Fantasy VII, BUT some say they can, the reason? the POPS, I tested most POPS on Final Fantasy VII and I found the best POPS was 3.82 it allowed me to watch the intro and play it normally.
Now basically there are 2 ways to do this, 1 extremely hard, long and annoying the other, quick simple and easy!
the hard one is to constantly upgrade and downgrade your PSP to suit the right game
the easy way is to use POPSLOADER, it allows you to select the POPS you want i.e. 3.82 POPS for Final Fantasy VII. There is also a compatability list here of some games and what POPS you need.
1. Download the File pack 2. Make a folder on the PSP memory Stick and call it seplugins
3. Extract all the files into that folder
4. Restart PSP (Turn it off, then turn it on and immediatly hold R)
5. Go down to plugins
6. Enable Popsloader.prx
*7. You may have to go into advanced configuration and enable POPS Plugins
8. Exit and restart
9. Run a PSPOne game
10. Select the correct POPS!
If any problems persist retry.
==B2: PPF Patches
Now some games have copy protection on them, DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU DOWNLOADED A GAME ISO, you can use PPF patches to unlock the game.
For example, if you hav tried Final Fantasy IX you will notice after the PS Logo disappears the screen remains black... it is because the game is copy protected, you need a certain PPF Patch to make it run, I downloaded a Patch that also gives me cheats, unfortuanetly I am not allowed to send links to PPF Patches out, but google is your friend!
==B3: THE RIGHT POPS FOR YOU
I am going to make a new compatibility lisy or the right POPS for a Game, feel free to PM more games and POPS!
