For some reason, my PSP (phat) refuses to load the game Megaman Legends 2. Period. I got it to run once, when I first completed my custom firmware hacks, but ever since that one time, I get error 80000004 EVERY time I try to run it. It will get to the Popsloader select screen, but choosing a pops below 3.10 freezes the entire system, and anything above 3.10 gives me the error 80000004. Odd thing is, it plays every other game perfectly fine...it seems to just hate poor Legends 2.
I've read about this error as much as I can, but most of the info I get is conflicting and outdated--telling me to rename the folder to a shorter name length (error is the same regardless of whether the name is 1 character or 100), include a keys.bin file (which shouldn't be necessary, since I used the latest PSX2PSP), use Popsloader (done and done)...I've even downloaded four different versions of the game with no success, and frankly I'm stumped. If anyone can shed some light on this, I'd appreciate it.
Here are the technical details about my PSP, if it helps:
-PSP-1000 (phat)
-Running system 5.00 M33-6
-Has the 1.50 kernel addon and the latest Popsloader, which I'm certain I installed right.
-Error is the same regardless of program used to create the eboot (I've used PSX2PSP myself and downloaded three other pre-made eboot.pbp's off of various forums).
This game is really buggy, certain parts of the game freeze or glitch. Delete any saved data of this game and try loading with 3.71 POPS. Still expect crashes, freezes and glitches. Give all the pops a try.
Still...odd that this specific game should be so buggy. Take the ladder glitch, for instance...was there something special about this game on the PS1 that makes it hard to convert?
