PSN PSONE games- final fantasy 7

I bought the PSONE Classic Final Fantasy 7 on the PSN and I'm trying to use gamesaves for it but all ive found were the older ps1 saves like the ones gamefaqs offers which are not in format for use on the pspgo. I'm curious if theres a converter or a certain way (other then using the ps3 virtual memory method) to get the pspgo to recognise the game save file. I have media go and tried opening the older save game file that the pspgo doesnt recognise to see if it will convert it but no bueno =/ . By the way its not like im stuck in the game somewhere and need a gamesave to get past it I just want to start a new game with a bunch of master materia =P

The save file format changed between 6.00 and 6.20, I am not aware of a save file converter at the moment (although I am sure someone will come up with one eventually)
