Im planning to buy a PSP-3000. After going through all the modding articles i see that the PSP should be kept on all the time to keep the CFW up and running. Is this still the case or someone came up with a full working CFW? I had a PSP 2000 which i had to sell a year back. I was on some M33 firmware i couldnt remember.

Can I buy a PSP 3000 and turn it off (not standby) and still keep the CFW?
If not i'd go for a PSP 2000 but is it still in Market?

It's better to get the PSP-2000.
You can install a permanent CFW that does not revert when you power off.

But do note. PSP-2000 newer motherboards have extra security and cannot be downgraded by any method example Pandora battery. Be careful.

Well, buying a PSP-3000 doesn't hurt either.
You can always use ChickHEN and enable homebrew mode and
play all the games you want. Just standby it when you're done playing. (:
Even if you accidentally power off it, it's not hard to achieve homebrew mode back.

Cheers,
this is my first post after a few years away from AfterDawn. xD

In simple words: Yes, the PSP 3k has to be kept on the whole time in order for it not to go to official firmware again. It is not fully hacked by now and probably never will be.

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.
