Ok I have a few problems. First I'm not sure if I have the Ta88v3 mobo, also I have the 5.50 firmware. To be honest, I'm hesitant to do anything because I dont want to brick my psp, I'm not sure what to do. I have some Isos and its a pain in the ass to bring a bunch of umd's everywhere. Anyways if anyone knows a way to load iso's without homebrew or can help me figure out if I can put homebrew on my psp safely it would be much appreciated. I have a Ratchet and Clank Silver PSP that I sent in to get repaired like 3 or 4 months ago. On the bottom on the barcode thing it says psp2001, serial# starts with Hu421. I just wanna play naruto D=

sorry to say there is no way to play iso's on that psp, it would have to have 5.03 or less firmware. all you can do right now is wait and see if somebody comes up with a hack. to be honest it's not looking good at the moment.

Are you sure it says PSP2001? Normally the Ratchet and Clank bundle came with a PSP 3000.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

still not going to work, not at this time anyway. you have a 88v3 motherboard no hack past 5.03 for that one.

D=... I read somewhere it goes:
"7- If it's a Limited Edition PSP, here's the list of the ones I know of so far:
Star Wars Limited Edition, comes with 3.60 OFW & a TA-085v1 Motherboard.
Simpsons Limited Edition, comes with 3.60 OFW & a TA-085v1 Motherboard.
Daxter Limited Edition Pack, comes with 3.80 OFW & a TA-085v2 Motherboard.[glow=red,2,300]HACKABLE[/glow]
God of War Limited Edition Pack, comes with 3.95 OFW & a TA-088v2 Motherboard.
Madden 09 Limited Edition Pack, comes with either 3.95 OFW & a TA-088v2 Motherboard ~~OR~~ 4.01 OFW & a TA-088v3 Motherboard."
if this were to be the case is it doable?

according to the serial that you provided it would fall into the 88v3, i have also read that that is a hackable model, only thing i can tell you is order a pandora from dealextreme and give it a try, its a small price to pay because if it indeed works then you are in good shape. i would try the lite blue datel battery. its about 9 dollars from deal extreme.

no it would either fail to start or show as corrupted data, it would not brick.

Well, as opposed to starting a new thread I figure I'll just ask all related questions here. Ummm let me know if this should go somewhere else. But if Sony has come out with 6.20 official firmware, how long till Dark, or Gen or someone comes out with 6.0 that we wont have to pandora back to an earlier OFW? Is it even possible??

Never! Darkalex quit the homebrew scene, although I have heard rumours he was working with the infectous team to develop a PS3 modchip/CFW combo. (don't hold me to that, I could be wrong)and also the GEN guys have already released a new CFW, dunno what number it is though but it's almost identical to the Official 6.20 in terms of features and interface (except it can play homebrew and backups.

So then should I be able to update to that cfw, I was reading on a psp-hacks forum that there isnt a point to it because they can just patch 5.5 and up to play the newer games. Dunno how all that works, I am probably gonna just buy the pandora but I figure there no harm in asking and seeing if theres a way to get cfw and homebrew without it. Also, THANKS!!

well if you are going to try and hack it, you will have to have a pandora no other way around it. get it and we will walk you though.

my personal opinion is that he is now working for SONY, and i cannot say that i blame him. if you have a talent, why not get paid for it? he is probably making more money than we could ever give him.

Well I ordered pandora but it hasnt come. I'm going to give it until the end of next week. I also looked up the or HU thing and I read that that was only for piano black as of the time of the post (which was after the daxter pack release. But again I dunno.

for those that don't want or can't load custom firmware on the later psp's with 5.03+ you may want to check out the half byte loader.
it uses the Patapon2 Demo and savegame exploit both free for download and no damage or void to you warranty.
its still buggy so not all homebrew works and obviously no .iso support but it can at least get some homebrew and emulators working on official firmware.
