Playing Chrono Cross on GEN-D3

I'm trying to get Chrono Cross to work on GEN-D3. I've tried pops 3.40 and 3.71 and 3.72 which are supposed to work, but the game still freezes at the status screen and the first boss fight.
Does anyone know how to get this running with no freezing on Gen-d3? It's an amazing game.
