Hi, while upgrading my psp1001 to ofw 6.0, the battery died. I plugged in charger and omly green light comes on now. I heard it was bricked, so i got a pandora battery & stick for $30 from PandoraBatteryBuys.com-it did nothing-same green light, they won't return my e-mails/calls as well. questions: 1) Was the battery I bought a tool bat, or was I scammed? 2) Would another one work better? 3) What can i do to fix it? I am using official firmware.
I contacted sony service, but they want $65+ just to look at it. Your help is appreciated!

You need to create a MMS (magic memory stick - not just use the memory stick), google will help you. Put this in the PSP and then put in the battery
The Pandora battery needs to be fully charged before you start, a 1000 will always be recoverable with a Pandora.

Hi, thx alot- VERY HELPFUL! I have been trying software w/ what pandorabatterybuys suggested, the maker just did not work for me. I tried w/ the Rainmk-one, unbricked no trouble @ all. Maybe the battery wasn't fully charged, i'm not sure-anyway success!!! + CFW, never expected that one.
One question: When I try to open game (iso) it states error code: The game could not start (80020321), any idea what that means?
Thx again!

It is looking for a UMD
Go to the recovery settings and set the setting to no UMD
it probably says
UMD Mode (currently: Normal -UMD required-)

00148 is the standard one for a game failing to start (.prx fail)- you get this if you don't have high enough firmware to play the game (new games need 5.55 or 6.0 and a custom firmware of this is not available as yet)or the game is corrupted, I have found that untouched iso or cso (the ripped ones cause more issues) all work on m33 driver (in the recovery menu there is an option for which driver to use Sony or m33 - use m33)
If the game was GI Joe or one of the 10 others (inc Dirt2 ) then they cannot be played.

Thx-you are VERY knowledgable! 2 quick questions: 1) You guessed the game GI Joe perfectly! Does that mean it cannot be played on PSP yet? What are the other games, are they listed somewhere? 2)My son was trying multi-layer on Resistance retribution, an error comes when he tries to connnect to internet. Can these games be played on-line?
Thx

Internet - you need to update to 5.50 GenB, however with 6.00 Sony firmware coming out - Internet may be out of bounds for the moment.
Yes there is a list Hako has one (google will find him) but generally most new games, there are a few exceptions Need For Speed Shift, but most now need 5.55 and this is not available - Yet hopefully

I did search forum 1st, but could not find anything on it. You were right! I updated to the 5. genB, tried to go on-line, said new update required-what a drag. Any idea when CFW for 6 will be available? When I installed 5.0m33-6, the screen went fuzzy and stated flash error-does not effect game play though. is this normal?
Thx again!

CFW 6.0 - no idea, it will appear from no where and there will be a lot of threads about it.
If your unit is working correctly then don't worry, if you keep the memory stick and the pandora battery you can always recover and reinstall

Hello, i am trying to play some of my son's old ps1 games on the psp. I copied them w/ imgburn, converted w/ popstation. I have popsloader500 (not sure what to do w/ this). I have even iceTea. I browsed the forum and internet, but there are so many diff. examples on what to do. Do you have any resources on the best course of action for playing ps1 on psp?
Thx again!

Hi, still new to all of this. 1 question, is the process of using the pandora battery and mms the same for rebooting a psp 2000 slim, or is there a diff. method?
Thx

Yes it is exactly the same - the battery on the slim is slightly different but the phat battery can be used - just with care to ensure the power is maintained throughout the update.
Beware - Some 2000's cannot be hacked, if the firmware is 5.03 or below use this method, its a lot safer and does not need the pandora http://pspslimhacks.com/easy-chickhen-cu...ithout-pandora/

Hi, thx again. A few questions: i want to install cfw on a psp slim 2000, the firmware is currently 5.51 OFW. Can the chicken-cu be used on this version? If not, what are the risks of using the pandora battery on it w/ mms, would it brick (very bad!!!!)? Is there another method if the pandora is not safe?
thx

At this stage this program runs few roms, however the program should boot, it should be in the PSP/Game/DSONPSP folder
I know it works on 5.00M33-6, however the latest Gen firmware do not run all homebrew, if you have 5.50Gen then I suspect the firmware
