Ok, I have a PSP 1001 with 3.52 M33 firmware on it. Everything was working fine with it last night bcause my son was playing it. My moronic wife took it away from him and instead of shutting it down properly, she just plugged the ac adapter in and put it away. This morning I go to turn it on, the power light comes on, stays green, the mem stick light blinks for a sec, but the screen doesn't turn on and I can't hear any sounds showing me that it actually turned on. I've tried taking the battery out and just using the ac adapter, taking out the memory stick, even trying to get into recovery mode, all of which has failed. Does this sound like it is bricked and if so, what steps can I take to unbrick it? I've read that I could use a Pandora, if that's the case could someone let me know for sure and possible link me to a set of instructions on how to make one. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You could try hellcat's recovery flasher since you can access recovery mode. link
and download any pbp file like 371.pbp, put it in the same folder of HRF then run it using the "run program at \PSP\GAME\RECOVERY\EBOOT.PBP" in the recovery menu. One more thing HRF can be used too to pandorized your battery.

No, I can't even get into recovery mode. The screen is completely black!

It's very strange to me that it will brick itself by just plugging the power to it and leaving it all night.... very strange inded as I have done this myself before and never had any problems.

To me as well! I've done it more times than I can count, even while in the middle of playing a game! I wasn't right there and can only describe what was explained to me.. The story I got was my son turned it on, my wife took it from him and plugged it in and then set it on top of the curio cabinet. It wasn't dropped or anything. Before I posted, I opened it and checked to make sure all the connection were in place and everything. I ran out of ideas, I tried going through other posts and none of them seemed to match the problem I'm having except for the screen not coming on.

You should also take into account that this hardware is quite old by now. You can try a Pandora battery, but don't be too surprised if it won't work.

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.
