i bought this psp thought i could fix it, it needed a screen, done that no problem but noticed that during games the character or icon would be going up the whole time. on the main screen no problems with anything only on games. so replace the analog, actually replaced the whole shell because it needed a umd door and battery cover too, and the whole kit w/analog was $25. so anyways replaced all of this in the order it came out of the other shell and its still the same with the new analog. ran custom firmware and used joysens1.5 no help at all. put it to 6.20 ofw with pandora and still the same, and occasionally shuts off. Took off the faceplate,(psp1001) so the analog wouldnt be there and it still does it, took off the directional pad and IT STILL DOES IT, and then took off the little rubber contact strip for the analog and it still does it. Is my motherboard bad? Thanks for any help.
Problem could be with the plastic board that's responsible for analog or directional pad. My recommendation is to get to CFW and use joysens disable the analog input and if it still goes up then it must be directional pad.
maybe but if i have only the lcd screen and the abxy board in it still does it. it still moves without the directional pad or analog attached to the motherboard and also without the rubber piece for the analog, without anything attached to the board it still moves around, so it has to be something with the board. i use a button tester program and the whole time with or without analog and directional pad on it was getting readings for the analog, and was constantly jumping up and down on numbers.
you should try to loosen the screws on the metal frame that holds the screen in. if you notice on the right there is a metal ramp shaped object at the bottom of it is a rubber piece, make sure the rubber piece is still there. it may just be stuck to the board or something.
