i have psp 2000 with 5.00 m33 firmware. my battery(SONY ORIGIANAL 1200mAh) died some days ago. so what i did is ,took my sony ericcson k310i battery(same 3.6 v but 750mAh), opened it and separated it from circuit and then i took psp battry removed dead internal battery from circuit and soldered k310i battery on psp battery circuit and and and ... it worked like a charm on my psp. so i want to ask is it safe to use this battery i have made this way? could it explode? please tell in detail. i have no money right now to purchase a new sony battery.

I have seen this done before and I believe it is safe, this is how most knockoff batteries are made, but they use less quality batteries. The only thing is that the new battery you have now, will have a smaller charged lifetime.
