I would say go for 1000 if you have no money to go for legit games. I have both actually and i love my GO very much and are willing to pay for worthy games.

I still love my 1000 and still play it a lot too...:D

But getting a 2000 is better i think, cuz its slim, and i dont know, its just better. you might want 3000 if you dont mind the hassle using the chickHen mod though.

PSP 1001 is far better.
I say this because, PSPGo cannot have custom firmware on it. With Custom Firmware you can run homebrew apps (PSPIrc, PSPTube, AFKWiM) and homebrew games (Doom, Quake, Duke Nuke, etc).
If you are like me and don't like to buy games, then you can run .iso's of psp games on your psp. If you want too you can also run PSX games on your psp. Although alot of them may not work, quite a few still will.

As for psp 3000, such as what the guy above said, For ChickHen I think you have to load it for each time you use it. I find this extremely annoying, since I play my psp pretty consistantly.

Also in all honesty I don't like the psp slim that much. I have trouble just holding a regular psp without hurting my hands because of its size and shape. I would much rather have phat systems.

Well back to PSPGO. Another reason I dislike PSPGo is because you have to download the game off psp network (I think. But if not that basicly destroys what I'm about to say. >>). This means they won't have all the psp releases, most likely several different games you want won't be on there. The lack of UMD drive seems to completely destroy the PSPGo in my book.

Although its nice not happening to carry around any games but... A psp 1000 with custom firmware can pretty much do the same thing. But psp 1000 can also have Emulation and Homebrew.

Overall its obviously your choice but, I would recommend the PSP 1000.

you can run more homebrew with better features on the earlier slim's and since they have more memory you can run better browsers and even turn your psp into a wifi phone with skype on the slim

having all of the above i would say its really close for me between the slim and the GO, as far as quality the PSPGO has the best screen and delivers the best picture, the motherboard is also alot better construction that past models. the slim is also far better inside than the phat. all considered, if you are planning to mod slim, if you do not mind paying for games, GO. at least thats my opinion.

Hi, i'm a new PSP's user. I need some help. :(

I would like to download games and put them on my PSP for free playing.
Can I do this with a PSP Go? If no, why?

P.S. I think PSP Go is better because i have just to put the applications/games on the memory card with my PC. True? :/
Thanks for your answers!!

No, you can't because the PSPGo simply isn't hacked yet.

For the choice which one is better:
I would vote for the PSP 1k for early PSP 2k isn't on the list. I totally dislike the PSPGo because I don't like the idea of buying my games online and then downloading them. If I buy a game I want to play it through and then be able to resell it. Also I am a huge fan of Video UMDs (I collect them).
The second reason I dislike the PSPGo is the internal battery. The battery is the most likely thing to break first and due to it being a wearing part it isn't covered by warranty. So having it internally is in my oppinion one of the most stupid ideas Sony ever had.
Also the PSPGo is butt ugly and the buttons are harder to reach than on the PSP Slim or phat.

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

the psp go with the internal battery has its pro's and cons, i think sony put it inside of course we all think to stop hacking, but they have already made pandora go away in there latest models, so its not that. i think they made it internal to keep people from loosing there battery half way through updates and then calling them every 5 minutes wanting a new psp because theirs is bricked. agreed the button locations suck.

you have to figure out what motherboard you have first, and what firmware you have on it now, if you do not have a pandora battery it will all depend on the firmware you are running. if your firmware is above 5.03 then at the moment there will be nothing you can do without the pandora, that is if you have the correct motherboard. simply saying post your information here, and we will tell you your options. we need every detail you can find. ofw, serial number, date code, and anything else you think might be relative.
