I have a old fat psp 1001. I have not played it in a month or so and now it won't power on. When I plug it in without battery it just shows the orange light. When I put a battery in it is just just the orange light. It does not blink, it is solid. I put in a pandora's battery and it came on and I tried to just downgrade again. And it did that fine. but when I took the pandora battery out tried to restart, it wouldn't turn on again. just the orange light. Can anyone help?

1. Remove the battery.
2. Plug in the PSP
3. Turn it on.

Do you get the green light?

The PSP, unlike the DS, does *not* need a battery installed to power on while plugged in.

It's an internal damage, could be anything from a blown fuse to water damage. Hard to tell with a piece of hardware that might be almost 7 years old.
