First off I'm new to this,so total n00b.
I've gone though several threads but am still somewhat confused.
I have a PSP slim,which I bout back in 2008 I beleive.
I haven't used it in over a year since the battery died and I never bothered with a replacement, but there are some games I would like to play that I've downloaded.

My PSP running on OFW ver.4.05

So, I found a thread about a UMB emulator http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/284944.
If I get this do I have to worry about getting CFW for my PSP?

And if getting CFW is necessay, should I get a pandora battery(does it make things easier/is it necessary)? And do you have to have a magic memory stick or can you just use a regular one with a pandora battery?

you can use chicken, if you search in afterdawn for hack any psp without a pandora you will find a guide. it works on anything 5.03 or below. with that you will not need a pandora or an MMS. emulators will not run without CFW.

Gives all links etc - make sure you check with pspident that you can add the custom firmware.

If not then look at the enabler for chickhen

Okay, so(my motherboard was a hackable one) I used the chickHEN, used the hellcat's and updated to CFW Custom Firmware 5.00 M33-6 now. Is there anything higher or am I good with this? (when I try to load an ISO it seems as if its loading but fails, then one does load but says something about 512 kb)I went from M33 to M33-6, was that bad?
