Today I recieved a secondhand psp. after charging it I turned it on, set the time, and waited for it to load. Before it got to the home screen it froze, after about ten seconds it turned back off. I have no memory card, and no controls are working. I would like to take it back to factory settings, but as I stated, I have no controls. I am new to the psp, and any help you may have would be much appreciated.

If it is a 1000 or an early 2000 then this may solve the issue, if it is a late 2000 or a 3000 then a repair shop is your only hope

Try again with no battery inserted and just the power lead, if it is the same then you are going to need a pandora battery. Look at MMS for PSP and pandora battery (use google!), this allows you to flash the psp to any firmware (custom or Sony). If it is a firmware issue then this will sort it, if not then it must be a fault on the motherboard.

You could always return it as faulty!
