This started after i threw my psp to the wall, so i'm pretty sure it's hardware :) but lets not talk about that.
My psp is acting very weirdly ever since, and i'd like to know what exactly is causing it.
When i turn the psp on, the power light just flashes. If i keep trying the psp might turn on with varying results, either working normally for a moment, showing distorted pixel mess, or start piling up pixels from the left to right.
Most common result of turning on is just a black screen while the power light is turned on.
(if i use battery, it gives the last result 90% of the time but never just "flash".)
The chances of the psp succesfully turning on is dramatically increased when i turn the psp upside down. Screen to the floor.
If i bend the psp, it might either increase or decrease the chances for the psp to turn on.
ps. I never hear sounds, propably because i do not get far enough to turn the volume on.
I opened the psp all the way after the metal part that holds the LCD screen, but i didnt see anything broken or disconnected.. I tried pushing the parts on more tight too, but as im writing this, the psp gives the same results as i wrote above.
I didnt go further because i used a crappy screwdriver which is like a needle after opening the psp...
I do not know much about technology or things like this, but to me it seems like all the parts in the psp do not get power correctly.

First of all, what kind of idiot would throw his PSP to the wall??
(no offence).
Secondly something must have been gone out of place or you might have damaged your PSP battery.(Only god knows how that happened).
Any way, try using a different battery.IF that doesnt work, you will need proffesional help. Take it to an electronic shop.

This is exactly what im trying to avoid :P that's why i'd like to know if the problem sounds familiar to someone. It'd make it alot easier to try to fix it.
I doubt it's the battery, because the psp doesn't turn on(most of the time) when i take off the battery and use only the power cord.
I usually play PSP when i'm really pissed, but psp tends to have really annoying and bad games that make me even more pissed = BAM! lol

I am telling you to take it to a pro because this happened to me and I took it to the shop where he bought the PSP from.
First I shutdown my PSP removing CFW.Then I made a backup off all the memory of the memory stick on my computer. And finally I formmated the memory stck thus erasing all of the proof that i ever got my PSP modded. And then I took it to the shop and had it fixed.
Do the same.If you dont have custom firmware installed, take it directly to the place you bought your PSP from.
P.S. I agree that the PSP has really annoying and bad games.

I don't want to reset everything because it's a huge trouble to get back to custom firmware :S if not impossible without a pbattery(..or a friend with cfw psp)
Plus i have no idea where it is from (xmas present) and i don't know any shops nearby that could fix it.

Oh,sorry. My bad
Wait,......something just hit me.....oh sorry that was just my brothers ball..no wait,it wasnt the ball.Maybe your PSP CFW is responsible for this.Did you ever do anything or mess around with your PSP recovery menu??
If your PSP was on when you threw it, it is possible.

It was on when i threw it. I havent done anything to the psp settings or firmwares after installing it.
The psp works normally occassionally, i even played Pokemon Emerald for some minutes without any problems.
I even managed to transfer like a gigabit of my mom's files from a computer to another through my psp.
If i manage to get it on and hold it very still and carefully press the buttons, it's likely to stay on quite a while.

Try shuting it down(holding the power button up for 3 seconds) and restarting it.That may do the trick.
Warnig:Doing this will erase your CFW. But I have found many simple guides of installing CFW on a PSP. Tell me what PSP and FW you have and I will provide a link of the website. Then you can be sure if you want to erase CFW from your PSP.
I feel your pain bro. It is a drag when you have to re-install CFW.

This is only true for PSP 3000 and the so-called unhackable versions of the PSP 2000. On a normal fat psp (like this one here) or an older PSP 2000 the firmware stays the same. But this PSP has been totally shut down, so if it was one of the above mentioned and had CFW that CFW would have been already gone.

It might be legal (not in all countries) but it is a violation of the User Policy (General Terms and Agreement) you accepted when buying the PSP and using it. Should have been in the package with the PSP. So Sony can tell you to put it to where the sun never shines. Also it is a fat psp, so it is out of warranty.
I am pretty sure the PSP motherboard is damaged (maybe some parts just loosened up, but I doubt that), could be that the screen is broken too. Also the UMD drives are pretty phrone to impacts (dropped my first PSP from like 40 centimetres accidentally and the UMD drive was dead), so even if you got it repaired it might be that the UMD drive is gone too. My advice would be to sell it on ebay and buy a new used one if you don't think you are able to repair it yourself.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

If it was any one of the things you mentioned Eisherz, it would be too expensive to fix it.But you gotta be a complete stinkin idiotic knuckle head to buy a broken PSP
As I said repairing would be expensive but buying another would be more expensive.Plus, it was a Xmas gift. You cant just sell a Xmas present. If I were you, I would stick to getting it repaired.Who cares about a stupid UMD drive when you can play games on your MS.
I mean thats what Xmas (and CFW) is all about right, playing ISOs.

Someone who knows where to get the parts cheap (for example www.dealextreme.com) and knows how to repair it. That way I got me a Slim 2000 looking as good as new with a new housing and a new UMD drive for about 80 Euros, when even a used one would have cost me about 140 minimum.

Nope, an used PSP fat you can get for about 100 Euros these days, for the broken one you might get about 50 and noone is going to repair it for 50 Euros, especially if it needs a new mainboard. Also Sony won't touch it after they realized it has CFW and due to it not even starting correctly it is quite impossible to remove the CFW. So the OP would have to find a repair store or someone private to fix it. Which is quite impossible if it realy needs a new mainboard. Also the Fat is discontinued, so the mainboards aren't produced anymore, and these are the only part that wasn't reproduced by a 3rd party seller.

Yeah, your best bet would be to just sell that one as parts and use the proceeds from that towards another one, or perhaps a squeeze toy to pacify your anger management issues should you not be planning to fix the psp.
You have likely damaged something internally such as the small ABXY board-(under the triangle, square, cross, and circle buttons) Which coincidentally is where the power switch, battery pins and charging plug all are located. You can try checking the connections on that board and hope it works after that, but you will probably run into problems as you mentioned with your screen, etc..
