Just built a new PC, need some Benchmark Software advice

I just got done building a PC, and at times it will just shut itself off w/o warning. The only way to turn it back on is to unplug it, press the power button for a couple seconds, then plug it back in and press the power button again. I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with it and I was told to run a benchmark on it, but don't know much about what the best ones are, and this site has always steered me right. Any advice? Thanks guys.
