Hello everyone, I am in the market to build a good desktop gaming computer.
I have $1300 to spend.
What I am looking for ...
case must glow blue,
must be able to do SLI connection
only interested in 1 graphic card atm but will get another for sli later unless it can be had in the build.
at least 6gb of ram Blu-ray drive would be nice
option for dolby digital would be good I have the tritton ax pro's for computer/consoles
accessories such as mouse, keyboard, headphones, speakers, cameras, not important atm.
monitor may or may not be important, currently have a 19" monitor.
I live in Alaska and newegg does not treat us nicely lol.
Using amazon pricing, and your large budget... I put this together. There are cheaper deals to be had. I would use this as just a guide. You might find other parts you like more. For instance I went with a full tower, you might want a Mid. You might want the i7 2600k for a cpu... although I think the i5 2500k is the best bang for the buck for gamers.

I would say it's pretty close. You could go higher on the CPU, Video Card, Hard Drive and Power Supply. However, that would start putting you over budget... at least depending on where you bought the parts. Or you could get a cheaper motherboard or case, and put the savings towards one of the other components.

Case is personal preference, I have included a high-end case that is illuminated in blue, as requested. By all means switch to a cheaper case if you prefer, but remember that fitting two large graphics cards (you stated an intention to use two later) is not always easy!
The SSD can be dropped if you wish to bring the cost down, but they make a considerable difference to the performance of a system. Even the cheaper 40GB drives are good just for installing windows and your web browser to - it makes an amazing difference.
This is a higher performance system than the one Griff posted, made possible by not wasting $100 on an overpriced motherboard.
