Hi there i have already posted a thread like this but nobody seemed to have any answers.
I jailbroke my iphone 3g running on firmware 3.1.2 a few days ago and went to do a reset (erase all content and settings) from the iphone, and it bricked it due to the jailbreak (this has happened to me multiple times). i know it was due to the jailbreak because after it bricked i restored it with unhacked firmware so it wouldn't be jailbroken anymore. I tried it again to prove the point and it erased fine. so i jailbroke it again, and went into icy and on first opening it started to say moving directory /applications (it means to the root partition that it automatically makes when you jailbreak it and on pwnage 3.1.4 you can choose the size of it but not delete) what it means by this is that it is moving the application folder to the new partition and also most of the system files (i know this because i looked at the iphones root directory using diskaid on my pc and compared it to an unjailbroken iphone.), this is why it bricks it after reset, because it also erases the system files on the new root partition, because it's a command meant for unhacked firmware. Now to prove that it was icy/cydia doing this on first launch i jailbroke my iphone again and before I opened icy/cydia I did the reset and it went fine!

Now what i would like from you is to:

1. do a back up of your jailbroken iphone/ipod and then go to general, reset (erase all content and setting) to prove that it is just not me.

2. tell me if you even now what i'm talking about

3. to share all info and solutions you have on the matter.

and 4. to tell if you know how to make icy/cydia not install on the root partition.
