Modded Dreamcasts are kinda hard to find since a lot people just used the Utopia boot disc. Modchips for the dreamcast are getting harder to find as well. The Utopia boot disc is free to download and allows you to play imports/back ups with out a mod chip. It also allows you to put your dreamcast into vga mode and use it on a vga monitor/tv for 480p video with a vga connector.
I am not looking to play backups... can already do that. I dont even think theres a chip out there that would let the ones that dont play them. I realize it would be much easier/cheaper to just find a boot disc but this is the way I'd like to go. Heres a link to the chip: http://www.goldenshop.com.hk/AI-trad/Dreamcast_htm/d_4wiremod.htm
Utopia Bootdisk is a booting program, created by a software group named Utopia, designed for the playing of import Sega Dreamcast games. The Utopia Bootdisk uses an exploit in the Dreamcast BIOS which was originally intended for use with MIL-CDs.
This Disc makes your Dreamcast region free allowing it to boot and play any IMPORT games that you have. It is also FREE to download. All it costs you is a CDR, thats it! Just download it, burn it, pop it in your dreamcast and boot it. Once you see the screen that says swap disc, pop in your import and play. NO Modification need.
Take it from me, I have had my Dreamcast since it was first released(I waited in line to buy it), It is cheaper, and more effective to just download and burn the Utopia boot disc to play your imports. It supports 99% of all imports out there( fixes the resolution to what your dreamcast uses, no green screens or black and white images. It also allows you to put your dreamcast in VGA mode if you want)

"backup" can be interchangeable with other terms such as "import."
Mod chips and boot disks are not necessary for the Dreamcast is what I'm saying.
