What is a good MP3/FLAC/MP4/AVI player?

Hi,

I'd like to know what a good handheld media player device is, that can play all of MP3/FLAC/MP4/AVI.

If it's got some extra file types, that's great too, but I'm looking for at least those as a requirement.

I know of Archos, but I don't really like that I have to go and buy firmware from their site for every single file type I want.

Screen size should be as large as possible, touch screen or with buttons doesn't really matter. Of course, as long battery life as possible.

Because I am not really familiar with these things, I really hope someone with immense expertise can post an answer, with multiple distinctions.

If there are players like these available that are sort of bulky (like the size of those portable DVD players), I'd like to hear about them too, and also hand-held ones (as I am mainly interested in these now, but my mind may change).

I would really appreciate if you could give an example of a high priced one, as well as a medium priced and low priced, and if possible, something that is a very good deal.
