Hi.

Im not sure if this is the right forum,or it should be in the convert DVD into another format forum.

I have a DVD of old Cine 8 films, which had been put onto a VHS video and then onto a DVD using a DVD recorder.

When they were initially put onto DVD, they were done in two batches, the first had no sound added, the second batch had music added.

I would like to remove all the sound and then add my own soundtrack.

I would also like to swap some of the film around as they havent been recorded in chronological order.

Is this possible, and what would be the best programme to use if it is, or would I need more than one programme?

Thanks for reading and I hope someone can help.

I don't know the best program.
Is your aim to keep the video in DVD format or re-encode to something like AVI?
Re-encoding involves a loss of quality that might not be acceptable - but you have to decide.
I would start by opening the DVD in DVD Shrink and Re-authoring it into separate videos.
Run DVD shrink and 'Open disc'.
Assuming it's only one Title that contains the collection, click 'Re-author' and drag Title 1 from the right to left pane.
Click the double arrow thingy and select a segment to separate out.
Click 'Backup' and save the segment to a new folder (in effect a new DVD).

Clear the left pane and re-drag Title 1 from right to left;repeat selection and backup.
Repeat until you have all the new selections.
Exit.
When you have all these mini-dvds, decide if you want to keep that format or convert to AVI and continue to the next step.

Thank you Attar.

Yes I would like to keep it in DVD format, they are old films, so the quality isn't great to begin with.

I will give DVD Shrink a try.
