Audio from avi and video from hdmi?

On my ps3 i was able to use multi output and now i want to do the same on my xbox 360. I already cut the case so both cords fit. How can i run audio from av Cables and video from hdmi? Any help is appreciated!

What ? audio from avi,you mean rca,simple get the hdmi cable specifically the one that is not as fat & the slimmed down large grey plug for audio,it has the rca ports on the back this allows audio from rca & video from hdmi it works fine as i use it

Are you trying to use an optical cable for a headset? If so they sell things specifically made to go into the component part of the xbox so you can utilize the optical port. Otherwise you can use the default component cables that came with the Xbox (if they have the port for optical) and just make sure the switch on it is set to the right side and it will work. You will have to take the casing off of it though to make it fit in with the HDMI at the same time. As for the wires you can just bundle them up and tape them and let them hang which is what I used to do before I bought the special piece for it. Hope this helps!

I just did as the OP did.Took the outer casing off the avi to fit the HDMI.Run the white/red combo into a surround sound and HDMI in tandem.Signal losses for about 5 seconds then its all good.
