I always wondered-- besides the psn info that is displayed on the ps3 home about free psn downloads, latest movies, news, etc. is there a site or a way of knowing all the free downloads that are given on psn every week/month? I guess I've never been those people that reap the benefits of psns goodies.

i dont want to sound like a fanboy, but i would rather go with a ps3. I like that i can run about any music and video file on the ps3, not to mention freebie net. though i had a 360 and fixed it several times, just recently, I gave up on the 360 team--i shouldnt have to worry about playing long nites and keeping my system cool....F that.

Can you play mkv files with subtitle support on ofw?

yes, it reads .mkv files--or recodes them somehow. however, there were a few times when the mkv files i ran were glitchy or not working.

hmm. I thought posting to these forums would help my decision, but everyones posting the ups and downs of both consoles, and i cant decides which ones ups out way the downs.

well, i havent said anything bad about the ps3. bigo and i are just discussing files that ps3 opens, which if i may add the 360 is not free to do any of that.
that link i posted above has an app that lets you wirelessly access your pc. you can run movies and crap from your pc. easy peasy
but if you really want to play gears 3, i cant stop you.

damn idk what to do. ps3 is sounding like a better choice here, and theyre maing the xbox seem godly over there.

You require a PC which converts and streams the data to the PS3 so that it can then play it.
Now a cfw ps3 can play them though, although not perfectly.
Also as we siad SOnGoku21, if you ask me it comes down to if you play online. As most of your friends have an xbox, get an xbox.

i had a feeling that was a rhetorical question. regardless, its versatile.
paying $50 for xbl isnt bad--its good online gaming.
here are a few reasons why you may want to consider sony, though:
1.gamesharing
2.bluray
3.customizable xmb
4.price drop
5.free net
6.1080p
i love gears and last.fm on xbox, but i also love using my wireless kb on my ps3 and surfing the web from bed. Ps3 accepts buncha 3rd party hardware.
