Portal 2 free PC version from PS3

I am going to buy Portal 2, But i have a ps3 and a PC

I was wondering if anyone had had any problems installing their free copy of portal 2 for PC which comes with the PS3 version due to the nature of needing a valid PSN account linked to steam to play it.

Because of the recent cock-up with PSN being hacked does the free portal 2 for PC which comes with the PS3 version not work if you have not yet linked your steam account with a PSN account?

So I was wondering if it was worth buying the PS3 version or not as not being able to play it would be useless. But if psn is gonna be fixed by the start of june that would be fine seeing as my exams end then
