250GB Slim PS3 is a definite, says report

According to a Eurogamer report, UK retailers have told the site that a 250GB model of the new Slim PS3 is a "definite" by October.
The unrevealed source says the model will be bundled with one or two games, but those are unknown for time being. The bundle should be unveiled later this month, at the Tokyo Game Show, adds the source.

Upgrade bro, I threw a 320gb in mine about a year ago for $60 USD. Still have 240GB I think, of space, lol.

I am not a fanboy of 360...... But Personaly prefer 360 !! Cause 360's are flashable & I dont have pay about 60 dollars for each 360 games !!! I mean.... If it is good, I am Happy AND IF ITS NOT....... WHO GIVES A CRAP ???? I have NOT paid for it !!

WoW..... Just put my thought & got kind of heated response. Firstly, I am NOT a fan boy for Xbox 360 & nor any consoles !!! I have owned PS1 & PS2 in the past & currently have PSP !!! The reason I said because PS3 is still not hacked !!!
May be I should have finished like "PS3 SUCKS.... UNTILL IT'S HACKED !!!
Dosent matter what console it is..... I LOVE WHEN IT IS MODDED !!

TUC138, I considered banning you but i'll leave it with a warning. Your first post was completely out of line, and has NOTHING to do with the news piece after the first line. We don't care that you prefer Xbox 360 because your a pirate, honestly. This goes the same way for PS3 fanboys. It is people (children) like you, that forced us staff to disable comments on previous console articles, and we don't really want to do it again.

your pretty much guaranteed to see bundles popping up closer to x-mas for all the consoles...but you are right if there isnt one it would be a better value to buy a drive yourself took me about 3 hours to switch out a 60gb one for a 320gb one was pretty much full cant stand uninstalling all the time and installing waste of my time.

how much do sony charge when the sku is changed, for the extra hard drive space exactly when the 250 gig 5400rpm sata drives now cost only £25 in the UK?
the larger drive is because of sourcing nothing more, older drives are more expensive to purchase for sony than current tech, i doubt the drives cost more than $1 each for sony if that.

The 250GB xbox360 was big news...there is no way to upgrade a 360 to a drive that size..the system just does not support it. To make a 250GB version would involve re-writing code or possibly modifying the mainboard.
However, this is not big news for the PS3...people have been using 500GB drives in their PS3 systems for a while (some have even used larger drives with the ESATA adapter). There is no re-engineering going on here, and I doubt there will be any difference other than the drive itself and the SKU sticker.
As for playing pirated games, I don't think microsoft or sony intended their systems to be hacked. The fact that the PS3 remains unhacked is a testament to their engineering skill (or an insult to Microsoft's skill). I know the argument goes back and forth between what console is better overall...but is is established fact that the PS3 is more technologicaly advanced.

or a test of which company is more dictatorial & loves to cripple peoples rights with DRM! ;)
how did they overcome the 130gig limitation in win xp as this was fixed via a software update in sp3? does this not just date back to the days of fat32 file structure?

Well i have a good job but even i will play the hell out a free game and for it being for broke ass people that's a pretty dumb thing to say i consider myself not poor but not well off either.i can afford a ps3 but choose the 360 for my own reasons not because i can't afford a ps3 it's because the 360 do what i need it to do play games.and in no way i'm i trying to say the 360 is better than the ps3 in fact i know it's not i only like it better.

If it is just $100 more, its worth the $ for most. You dont have to replace the HD, format it and such. To some, its not worth the trouble. Its easy thow.

looks like we got the REAL FANBOY (OF PS3) !!! Your words shows that too... Look, I dont care weather you call me cheap OR calling Xbox 360 a cheap system cause more than you, I know weather I am afford to buy a 60 dollar game or not. You can call me cheap, But I will call myself SMART.... WHY ??? Most of the games comes for both consoles, So why would I want to buy a SAME game for 60 dollars which is available for free in other console ???
Off cource, 360's are "MADE" to do that... But at of the day, the chance is taken ahead of loosing the warranty !! I get more games for doing this & one of those is crap, I will not be bothered.... After all I would have wasted just a Download & DL, Not Dollar ! As far as Blu Ray, I buy a console mainly for playing games. I respect both consoles sooner or later, if PS3 gets hacked, I will buy that too !!!!!
Back to topic.... Mo matter what the console is its always fun when you know that you have lots of GB's ready to load many stuffs !!!!
