A780 Correct order of Set up/Plug in

Hi. Just a quick question. My a780 arrived today and i'll be setting it up when i get home. I'm just wondering if someone could clarify for me, the right order to go about everything.
It has been flashed so i presume it just needs plugging in and scanning. I have read in one place that i should connect to cable feed, scan, turn off, connect ethernet and router, turn back on and set to premuim channel and wait for codes to update.

However i have then seen slightly different advice which says i need to connect ethernet and router first, then scan and leave in standby to update.

Would anyone be able to tell me which (if either) of these is these correct way to go about it, or does it not make any difference?
