Users of Apple's iPhone 3G and 3GS are finally able to use the MMS functionality added to the handset with the iPhone 3.0 software update on AT&T's network. The capability came at 1pm Eastern Time, meeting the time announced earlier this week by AT&T. Ummm, thanks? Thanks for giving me more options that I MUST pay 30 dollars every month to have a DATA phone? Yeah thanks for letting me send pictures now on my DATA phone, Apple. I think it's a ploy to attack Jailbreak users. I don't have it but, it's what I first thought about when I read "must have 3.1". Maybe I'm alone here...

MMS is not available for the first generation iPhone.

Had it since July, when 3.0 came out.

I don't have it but, it's what I first thought about when I read "must have 3.1".

It shouldn't be to much of a problem, with the 3.1, just wait a little longer for the jailbrake to come out.

I can't wait! I'm still noob with the iPhone hacks and updated before I researched. What's amazing is that service wasn't offered until now with these phones. There are way less capable phones that can at least send pics. Is Apple behind the power curve with these phones still? Seems like they have a lot of untapped potential.

Indeed, the problem is the carrier, what about Internet Tethering? probably we won't enjoy that here in the USA unless we pay an unreasonable amount of money.

It would be great to have more carriers for the Iphone rather than a monopoly.
