BBC to release iPhone apps

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is planning to deliver sports and news content via iPhone applications from April this year. The apps for Apple devices will be followed by versions for RIM's BlackBerry handsets and Google's Android software. I have to access my bbc content on iphone through the web page therefore I see a lot of "install plugin" messages and as it's iphone there aren't any. Hopefully these new apps will let me view the video content of "My" BBC. And as for "publishers of paid-for content..." stuff them I don't and won't pay for news.

In Great Britain, total sum of installed base of iphones, blackberries and android phones is less then that of s60v3 and s60v5 devices (which are for all bits and purposes same platform).
Strange priorities to release for much smaller platforms first. Or are they already out on those?
