Cablevision is set to trial a new concept service in New York, where it serves 3 million homes. A household with both Cablevision Internet access and cable television services will be able to take part. Basically, the service will use your Internet connection to stream pretty much anything from your computer screen to your television, delivered as your own personal TV channel through your cable.

Whats funny is people have been asking for the ability to purchase individual channels for eons, not be forced into buying tiers of them. Technology has forced their hands.

Even better, it's illegal to force you into these bundles to get specific channels, and multiple lawsuits and fines have been imposed because of the forced sale of these tiers. However, it's just a show, and the cable companies still use that model because the tiny and uncommon fines aren't enough to deter them.
