article published on 7 January, 2010

The technology, says the company, means the PDP "achieves a higher illuminating speed, about one fourth the speed of conventional Full HD panels." The 4,096 x 2,160 pixel resolution screen also "incorporates a crosstalk ... [ read the full article ]

wake me up when hologram tv is developed, until then you can keep your gimmik 3d tv.

why don't you advance technology instead of rehashing old technology to prop up your failing businesses.

Failing is not having the best sets on the market, for arguably the best prices.

3D tv sets is a dead technology before it's even alive.

Mark my words. Not only have I been saying this from the inception of the idea but read an article from one of the major manufacturers that this is intended to be an "in between" from LCD/LED to OLED.

Anyone that buys into this stupid and wasteful tech is throwing money away. I see this as the "Windows Vista" of TVs. I sure as hell am not going to disregard my 52" LCD for this and this will probably hold more true from LED owners.

Besides.................3D is really captivating when you're at a theatre on a GIANT screen.

3D........ppppffffssshhhh!!! Phoooey!

Additionally.............Panasonic better get off their Plasma bandwagon. Energy hog, burn-in, expensive and not the next step towards OLED. My guess is OLED will carry us for a loooooong time. 5-7 years before OLED is affordably priced at 42" and higher.

Plasma sucks...this TV is 2 generations old. Most LCD and LED TVs are 3D glasses compatable, even if they were sold before there were "3D TV"s.

You have no idea what you're talking about. The best picture on the market is still one that comes in a plasma panel. LCD couldn't match plasma so they brought in a new lighting system called LED. Even the best LED cannot match the Pioneer Kuro plasma for overall picture quality right now. There is no screen burn in on plasmas anymore. All the major manufacturers overcome that issue. The new Panasonic neo panels use far less energy - it's on par with LCD. Therefore, on this basis, how does plasma suck? If plasma sucks then LED and LCD must suck harder. LCD - let's not even begin to mention motion judder and viewing angle restrictions. TBH, I don't care which one eventually reigns supreme but right now plasma has the best picture.
