Dell has unveiled their latest ultraportable notebook today, the Vostro V13, which should cost one-third the price of the competing Macbook Air and one quarter the price of the Adamo XPS. let me get this straight..the lap costs 450 but the add-on costs more than 1.5 times the worth of the laptop itself? sounds like dell to me

I'm not sure with the way its worded but i think that it is saying for $600 total the system would have those upgrades. So its 37% more expensive.

I think that's what they are saying, for $600 you get the entire package, not that for $600 you get just the upgrades...

I am guessing that this Dell nonsense is made because of the growing netbook market and Dell wants a piece of the action. I don't like the specs to be honest i find it too be just old parts put together and putting Linux on just makes sure it works with the old hardware.
No thanks in my book.

Then don't buy the Celeron/Linux configuration; buy the Core 2/Windows one. If not then buy an overrated MacAir.
