According to new figures from Rentrak's Home Video Essentials, US consumer spending on Blu-ray and DVD rentals exploded 10 percent year-on-year for the Q3 2008, with notable growth in popularity of Blu-ray and Redbox $1 rentals. Overall, spending for both formats grew to $1.6 billion USD for the quarter. Well of coarse movie rentals have increased. i have 1 Dollar(redbox),i have 50 blank-DVDs, i now own a movie. the trend is plainly obvious.

who really watches those $250,000 fine and 2 years in prison things anymore. the FBI is not going to waist its time with us.

Well, I'm sick of shrinking DVD9 down to DVD5 and getting 60% of video quality which is already 480p at best on my HDTV: it looks like crap. All was well 4-5 years ago before the HD era, now I'd rather pay the cash for Netflix and enjoy 1080p Blu-Ray with uncompressed audio... until BD-R comes down in price ;-)
