It seems that the same bug in the Safari browser that allows you to jailbreak you phone just by going to a website can also be used to do other things without your permission (duh!). In spite of Steve Job's warning that jailbreaking the iPhone will make the device less secure, the only way to patch this security hole is to jailbreak the phone.

If you have an iPhone4, it is probably advisable to jailbreak now, as Apple is not likely to issue a fix any time soon, and when they do, it will probably make the current jailbreaking technique non-functional.
